The Structure of Philosophical Revolutions

Forthcoming book! This is a book I wrote in an afternoon (this afternoon), to fill in missing gaps in Thomas Paine.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Coppedge considers what is missing from a common sense idea of government by interpreting the first two books of Paine’s Common Sense for figments of an underlying technocratic idea. Weaving in glimpses of technical jargon from his own coherentist philosophy, he addresses an idea of modular government which accepts economic and technological success and the meaningful interests of its citizens as the standard of progress, both for the citizen, and for the governments role as a corporation of citizens. The result is democratic and poetic, and also futuristic.  It is both political philosophy and an idea of philosophy’s ultimate importance.

Counting e-books, I have now sold 200 books, including about 20 - 40 different titles.

This is after my last mark of 100 books sold sometime last year.

Also, I sold 10 e-books today, which is a record for me by far!

I've made 15 sales through expanded distribution to date (two this month).

They are not yet widely available in bookstores, but I would encourage you to order it at the desk at Barnes & Noble if that's what works for you. It should be available for order, but won't be ready on-hand. The more people do this, the more likely it is that I will be officially included.

Since Barnes & Noble is one of the major sellers, I estimate I've sold at least three on-hand copies via Barnes & Noble already, perhaps more. As I suggested, you have to be very lucky to find them. Perhaps I'll do better next year.

My most popular book has sold 50 copies now

in it's first year. That is, unless Amazon is gyping me.

Now fully 114 pages, mostly diagrams. No junk, according to my standards. When it comes to perpetual motion, this is the hard stuff.

A sale every day in the past 12 days, thanks to 4 expanded distribution sales this month. It may really be a report on last month, but that's another story. I have to trust how it appears on paper.

I earned about $25 during that time, although the company hasn't paid it out yet.

I have a suspicion that the following statements may have been made about my books by bookstore employees:

"Marketing is just marketing with Nathan Coppedge. It doesn't require any extra work. It just requires a book on a shelf".

"Every book we buy from Nathan Coppedge we also sell".

"Nathan doesn't require marketing except online. Every book we make available leaves the shelf. What could be wrong with this guy?".

"I begin to think we should hire more self-published authors. Then I realize, it's Nathan and that's it. He's a vast exception to the rule. I'm borrowing his language."

The Dimensional Philosopher's Toolkit is Now Officially Copyrighted

I received a notice from the Library of Congress saying that most of the material included in the Dimensional Philosopher's Toolkit is considered copyrightable.

Actually, it's slightly ambiguous, but the notice says that the 'material excluded from this claim' is 'some text' which I assume means quotations. So I'm okay!
