Asceticureanism Cartoon

Slightly satirical. I don't like Pamela very much. But it might fit the model of moderate pleasure according to Asceticureans, if a Christian can have a wife, and a Jew can have heaven... Metaphysics is of this world, according to Asceticureans, unless we adopt a dimensional view... And remember, the relationship between masturbators and Pamela is fairly complex. That's why I chose that example. People feel a strange loyalty to Pamela. It evokes loyalty, even without reason.

True Religion

CHINA --> MONGOLIAN EGYPT --> WEST --> 2ND GREECE --> TAWAIN --> JAPAN
(What is the soul? Rephrased as, What is spirituality?)
The best advice seems to be that souls vary in strength, or at least importance within the cosmos. I believe that I have a causal essence as my identity. Souls tend to be identities, but sometimes, through magic or the influence of immortals, the soul grows its own body, and it is perhaps through this method that it learns to live on another plane.
There is a detail noted in many traditions that the quality of the soul determines how and where it lives. It is only subjective in a spiritual sense —- since these manifestations are all that we know of so-called ‘physical’ reality.
For those that are not developed, it is said that the ‘monsters’ of the appetite take over, and the crude element of the world is therefore in need of abstractions, justice, temperence, and the fulfilling of appetite. It is argued that spiritually the appetite never needs to be fulfilled, and starvation is a shorter path to enlightenment. However, this neglects the cruel rules of the world which may demand that a starved person or someone who abstains from sex, liquor, or some other sense, may be considered uneducated, etc.
The principle of punishment emerges from paying what the gods call ‘unnecessary’ dues to those who are ‘in the spiritual pit of (insert expletive)’.
However, I argue, mortals provide the key to originality. Indeed, we are all evolving into God (s) by our own standard. Those who have no standards or who always fail do not evolve.
Historically, some people have been very great, and then sunk low by forgetting who they were. Other people were always in the middle, but always doing something significant for others. And another view is that it takes very many incarnations to do anything that actually looks passably normal and significant. And still another view is that everyone is approximately equal, but life is imbalanced. Unfortunately, this last view poses the smallest amount of possibility for progress, even though it suggests that much progress has been made.
One possibility at this time in history, given corruption, and given the desire for a modicum of benefits for everyone, is that souls could exist as information. This is the primary spiritual view which would allow for materialism: hopeless cases indebted to the material world, who never have the courage to confront their passions. However, even in this type of world, the soul could grow through intellectual concepts concerning how the soul is to be treated and how it is meant to behave or psychologically or magically interact with the world. Progress could be made between deaths, and the immortal factor might be some kind of consistency in memory or composition which comes about due to an ‘affinity’ between God’s aesthetic choices, and one’s own choices and memory. In this case, it would be important to make skillful aesthetic choices to gain standing, or to do something else intellectually signficant, or to make metaphysical discoveries.
The major possibility of disaster in such a world becomes the capacity to reject the soul, as the soul is the primary exponent of the spiritual self.
There are also other views that dwell on corrupt aspects and bad ideas, and these are worth rejecting under the view that Socrates was wise and believed that for mortals, justice involved the good life. Aesthetics and metaphysics can then be put in service of the good. Temperence becomes a way of moving in the direction of the philosophical life, which holds high promise for materialism.

From Asceticurus: How can one be fully sure of his / her belief?

Here is a method:
1. Does the belief concern something real, that is, something that can be defined to be 'real' according to whatever definition of real you hold?
2. Can you reason in such a way as to verify for your mind that it is real? Can you justify your belief?
3. Is there sufficient reason to continue believing in it after much time has passed?
4. Is there no way in which you were wrong to hold this belief?
5. If you were wrong in some way, is there good reason still to believe that you were right?
6. Is there a necessity for the thing?
7. Does the thing serve a practical purpose?
8. Do you find significance in the thing?

THE METAPHYSICAL ART, BK. IV. "TIME'S TABLES"

[1] "The subtle art is indistinguishable from permutation."

[2] "Time is all of change."

[3] "The river lies beyond the sea."

[4] "Nature blooms amidst intuitions."

[5] "The sacred sound floats above the ground."

[6] "Patterns are unwoven in the laws of interpretation."

[7] "Figures are myths of memory."

[8] "Time fragments on its ends."

[9] History is the ideation of all capacities, present at all levels.

[10] It all depends on formulating an exceptional rule.

[11] Nature changes.

[12] Fools die, leaving genius eggs.

[13] Sometimes perspective merits a different system.

THE METAPHYSICAL ART, BK. III. "THE MIDDLE-AGES"

[1] "The subtle art is indistinguishable from magic..."

[2] The self contains its own essence, and knows less well the essences that lie beyond the self...

[3] Even so, the self is exceptional, and a measurement of things not contained within the self.

[4] What we notice in a dark room is substantially different from the same objects in a light room.

[5] Subtle laws can prove anything, however difficultly, with whatever exceptionality...

[6] These things exist in what Douglas Adams called 'the long dark teatime of the soul'...

[7] With proper nourishment (biscuits, sugared tea), life is indistinguishable from magic, to the sophisticate... His needs are provided for, and so, there is less reliance on reality...

[8] The magic of a sacred grove is revealed with mystery.

[9] Unfragmented steps lead beyond, into the universal...

[10] The magic of the universal may as well be ordinary.

[11] The first art of magic becomes the pursuit of the immortal...

[12] Life's intransitives fade into vignettes, cartoons, barely noticable.

[13] The best systems are left with a touch of everything, a miscellay, a roster, an establishment.

New Spiritual Book

The Spiritual Writings is being pre-released.

154 pages.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Still a student at SCSU, and continuing to formulate his own philosophy of coherence and objectivity, Coppedge struggled with concepts of radical subjectivity, and was inspired by Zen Buddhism, Epicurus, and his own investigations into bold abstract art. The result, unlike some of his other works, which were written as encyclopedias, was one continuous text, written with the purpose of capturing a new, elusive religion. The notebook, which spanned several years of deep inner-searching, took the form of a spiritual journal. In it are contained thoughts summarizing Coppedge’s revolutionary religious perspective.

IT WILL BE AVAILABLE AT AMAZON IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, IN PRINT AND E-BOOK FORM.

Nathan Coppedge aka Asceticurus, in his Studio

The Asceticurean religion was founded recently by Nathan Coppedge, so I have adopted the name "Asceticurus" as a historical moniker in relation to that practice. This form of spirituality emphasizes aesthetic and ascetic virtues, specifically positive forms of existentialism, metaphysical literature, living inside museums, dieting, etc.

My Spiritual Writings are present online in video form, and a wider selection will soon be available on book form.

An earlier writing that is key for Asceticureanism is The Metaphysical Art, a masterful writing that is available for free, clarifying the metaphysical insights necessary to master metaphysics in 3 dimensions. That writing dates from August of this year, and was originally written on my blog.

A few additional quotes are available HERE.

LATEST WRITING ON ASCETICUREANISM

"To those that say that something isn’t the city of God, even when it looks like the city of God, even if it is one of my artworks, then I say:

What is to keep a small thing from being adequate?

(Nothing, I say, nothing!)..."

Asceticurean on Time!

Via Quora (Post by Nathan Coppedge):

"I think a variable is more general than a particle, and much more specific than a field. But, nonetheless, it has a kind of universal relevance in our world. Relevance is a variable that extends beyond the bounds of time. And some worlds may even look similar, in a superficial way, when they are immortal. But we have to measure up before we get there (my spiritual view is Asceticurean, meaning that I practice Zen aesthetics, urbanism, and epiphanies, as rituals and a form of life. It also involves taking things lightly, with an eye to universal intelligence)."

Asceticureanism: Is anything more pleasurable than knowledge?

Via Quora.com (posted by Nathan Coppedge):

Yes, if everything settles down.

This is the strange, official answer.

Some pleasures involve confusion that is not genuinely enjoyable. On the other hand, if 'the mud settles and the water is clear' then more common pleasures become spiritually enjoyable.

(THE) METAPHYSICAL ART / Magic Writing

Metaphysical Levels of the 3rd Dimension According to Aestheticureanism or Asceticureanism

The metaphysical art is the art of changeless variations. Here are motions within the art:

(A) There are two boulders of equal size. Place an equally-sized boulder between them.

(B) There is a small boulder and a very large boulder. Place a medium-sized boulder between them.

(C ) There is a small boulder and a very large boulder. Imagine an infinite boulder beyond the large boulder.

(D) There is a small boulder and a very large boulder. Find something small and magical in the sand beyond the smaller boulder. If you do not find something, do your best to put something small and magical there in place of the missing object. If you return later, take the object, or return the object, creating a cycle of nature.

(E) Swing a cheap object on a string, to advertise the one small magical object that you do not possess, or the infinite ones that you do, but which may be invisible.

(F) Make compositions out of precious objects, finding magic in them. Think if you must.

(G) Try to balance something on a tall pole stuck in the ground. If you cannot balance the object, then become a tragedian by worshipping the invisible things on the end of the protruding stick.

(H) Pretend you are a victim to lament the possible loss of immortality. Stick sticks in the ground and lie on your back underneath the sticks, like you have been impaled by the invisible. Construct a spirit to equal the ghosts on the ends of the poles.

(I) Carry a stick to keep in touch with the ghosts in things. Become animated with the way of the world.

(J) Put a precious magical thing on a string around your neck. Now you don’t need to play victim. Give it a name, like ‘wishing stone’ or ‘philosopher’s stone’ or ‘washing-stone’ or ‘stone of youth’.

(K) If you don’t like the stone, throw it in the water. When you feel thoughtful, look for a replacement stone. If you love the stone, keep it on a shelf. Become a hermit.

(L) Ruminate, so that you remember just how things are.

(M) Practice un-attachment, and learn time-travel.

At this point, if you succeed, you have mastered metaphysics for three dimensions.

From the forthcoming Dimensional Metaphysics Toolkit.
