We are accustomed to what we might call the 'gay approach'. This resulted from: (1) The Ancient Greeks, (2) Analytic philosophy such as Aristotle, Hegel, and sometimes Nietzsche, (3) The rise of computers, which placed values on analytics and leisure.
But there were alternatives:
1. (PRIMARY: Analysis, leisure, straws for drinks, high birth rate, belief in randomness).
Several are similar:
2. High indulgence, high death rate, mysterious technologies, belief in fate.
3. Ordinary appearances, subtle technology, secret combinations, 'fields of light' gullible.
4. Belief in rules and standards, stand-out appearance, unknown or non-invasive technology, demonization of medicine.
Many of the alternatives involve changing the response to stimulus:
5. More sensitive, weird behavior, group behavior, exceptional differences.
6. More sensitive, special thing, understand, weird moments.
7. More sensitive, special mind, blind behavior, dramatic displays.
8. More sensitive, generalized response, social control, sensitive society.
Another option:
9. Less sensitive, progressing slowly, belief in larger concepts, isolated events.
