THE ANSWER TO LIFE PART THREE

There is a web in the world and the mind. It is a network of significant experiences. The more experiences are signfiicant, the more the world makes sense, and the less fragile the web. Each person who achieves a significant life is like a web unto him or herself. This is often because these people are giving to others of their best experiences. The effect is often selfish. Nonetheless, the effects on other people serve a symbolic purpose. They are potential doorways from insignificane onto significance. Sometimes the difference is only an animal reality. And after animal reality is the God reality. After God reality might be the functional reality. After the functional reality might be the emotional reality. No matter which reality one is in, one wishes to pass through these doorways, and enter onto greater significance. And one's range of experiences determines the tools most appropriate for gaining access to that significance. In the first stage, one wants to be told that one is a survivor, a philosopher, a seeker, a professor. In the second stage one wishes to find things that are 'genuinely transcendent', 'special', 'cute', 'idealistic', etc. In the third stage one wants to be left alone to do the most meaningful work. In the fourth stage one opens up to the world and finds meaning in immediate experiences. These are the stages and the modes which correspond to the web of doors, and the pursuit of ultimate meaning for most people, and it is the functions and dysfunctions of these stages that largely define human psychology.

THE ANSWER TO LIFE PART TWO

Many answers are possible. Some are elaborate, and some are perfected. One encounters many of the other answers as one progresses through life. While it may seem terrible that others have different answers, in fact the dilaectic between one answer and another is what creates heaven. Paradise is found on earth, in the form of the correspondence and intrigue between the deepest inner searches. If paradise cannot be had, it is because it is not desired often enough, because some practical problem looms large, or because someone made light of something which was actually significant. It may seem fragile, but it's not. Signficance exists or it does not, at a given time. There is either innocence, or value, or feeling, or significance. And, in a sense, all of these are types of meaning. Because meaning is always present in the form of some answer, some problem, some choice, or some confusion, there is always an explanation which stands in for the ulimate truth. The ultimate truth is only part of the answer, and that is something that explains the nature of the meaning of life.

ASSORTED NOTES ON LIFE AND ETHOS

1.

I  have thought about it, and what is a beginning-point?

It is no more than perfection!

Without perfection, there is no beginning!

Out of perfection, life is a storming for the future!

2.

People are more than what they make!

The jewelry-maker is indebted to the thief!

The rich man is indebted to the whore!

Out of sad things comes the most intentional business!

Perhaps for this reason, and no other, evil pleases children!

3.

For many people, madness is like mana from heaven.

They were waiting for something to prove something.

They were waiting for proof, and they hoped for the best.

But when things couldn't get worse, they got better.

And when they couldn't prove that things wouldn't get worse, then things remained pretty bad.

So, (right now) life is stupid, because it improves for people that don't improve.

It stays crazy for people that mean the best.

4.

On the future...

Perhaps the gods or aliens (or whoever they are) want us to die to become our own children: that would explain how pride is a sin!

Of course, the average man doesn't want to die of politeness, for that reason!

Men see their fate within their past, and their own potential as the doctoring of their past...!
