In our case, the third dimension has one time dimension. Immortality is associated with the fourth dimension, because it involves multiple 3-dimensions, and multiple 3-dimensions assumes full choice of the third dimension, just like the 3rd dimension implies the ability to create art. The idea of art is grasped as a complete concept in the 3rd dimension (assuming art is 2-d), the way the concept of time and anything else 3-d is understood as a sufficient, complete concept in the 4th dimension. Complete understanding of time means immortality, since in this case time is analogous to an artistic composition. Further, immortality means two time dimensions, as shown by the requirement for timelessness or something similar, and the fact that time-travel can physically exist within one axis of time (this is the same as saying it is 0-dimensional in the 4th) which implies a dimension lower than the 4th is sufficient for it.
The rest of the statements concerning the physical properties of the 5th dimension are an elaboration on similar themes of how it might be predicted that the real, legit 4th dimension develops. However, as far as absolute dimensions this analysis may be a bit normative. I have no idea of your education level in approaching this problem. There are stricter systems that assume perfect problem-solving, but that is not what I see in this world judging by the simplicity of ideas and published texts.
