For those scared off by my scary skull-and-crossbones cover on the Secret Principles of Immortality, the cover is undergoing a change, and now will feature a peach color with a phoenix. I hope that remedies the situation. I originally chose the skull-and-crossbones thinking that I needed to fit the 'don't judge a book by it's cover' paradigm (many books try to fit that model, but in this case it was a little inappropriate). And by the way, the phoenix is not a sign of the Luftwaffe, it is an alchemical symbol which may or may not originate from Germany.

New Book: The Old Incantations, or Sorcery in the Dark

Nathan Coppedge, the poet of this collection, considers this his middle period, a kind of dark age in which he produced his most meaningful work. The earlier period may be more authentic, and the later period more classical, but during this period the two were combined. In these poems, covering themes from love to lightning, and occasionally rhapsing Dickinsonian, Coppedge captures some of the enigma and powerful significance of being a poet. Like the title suggests, in at least one of these poems you will literally get the sense of calling down lightning. Nothing is quite the same without Nathan Coppedge. And it is certainly weird when he is here. These poems evoke immortality, but they also come from a voice which is in some ways more than ordinary.

Hypothetically, God's I.Q. System
based on an article I wrote about exceptional reality. The theory is that God is really relaxed, but has an impossible standard in which everyone passes a little, and no one passes completely. So this test scales to all levels of reality. It includes God, it includes devils, it includes the most fantastic intelligence, the most absurd folly, and the most divine wisdom.
