Here is the building I used to pass walking to SCSU (recently I take the bus through the middle).

Strangely, I never attend the lectures held in that building. Well, I tried once and was bored out of my mind...

Sometimes I wonder if I've influenced the architecture of SCSU. For example, I did some drawings of buildings in high school that are similar. And, an architect once asked my opinion. I even caught the new library addition looking exactly like a drawing I showed the architect... But, it was only for a few days. then they took down the U-shaped boards that were leaning against the window and the building started to look more typical... just a computer lab with typical steel beams... and some stained-glass windows...

Me: "You're joking! I don't have a spleen? That's hard to believe."

Researcher: "I'm trying to get my mind around it. Because normally, the body doesn't function without a spleen. Just about everyone has one. But you don't."

Me: "I mean, I guess I somehow don't have a use for one. Somehow. What are they used for, anyway?"

Researcher: "Exactly. You don't even comprehend how to use one! They're used for filtering out certain kinds of chemicals, especially during digestion. Like poisonous chemicals."

Me: "I guess that could be really bad, then! I guess I need a spleen!"

Researcher: "But evidently you don't."

Me: "I mean, I drink a lot of fluids a lot of the time. Maybe that has something to do with it!"

Researcher: "That gives me a big clue. Thank you! You probably filter out a lot of the chemicals automatically, like in the small intestine.

Me: "Cool!"

Researcher: "And, my guess is, you have a dirty bloodstream."

I tried to raise my fist at him.

Researcher: "Don't get angry. It's very interesting! Very cool! Your body is naturally adapted to have a dirty bloodstream! That's the only explanation! Dirty bloodstreams must come in degrees, becasue otherwise you wouldn't survive!"

THE "DARK SECRETS" OF NATHAN'S GENIUS

Four Secrets Revealed Related to Four Areas of Nathan's "Research"

1. Perpetual Motion: I think I remember thinking in elementary school, that if there was something I'd sell my soul for, this might be it. I probably uttered this out loud, and was admonished by my teacher.

2. Poetry: I secretly think of my poems as coming from everyone in the universe, myself last of all. This has the effect of producing excellent poems, but at the cost of some sanity.

3. Philosophy: Some of my philosophy is premised in the idea that I'm having a bad life for a god. So, if it's a Yahwehan creator, I'm not on good terms the way Job was! All of this seems to speak about how I'm basically in a superficial category, doing meaningless dirty work. But, Babel or not, it's not how I see myself. But frankly I find the Dilbert cartoons involving a philosophical garbage man somewhat inspiring. Interpreting all of this 'dialectic' about my position as a philosopher, the conclusion is that I'm fighting a hellish battle against people that think I should be righteously depressed. But, when I focus on my own creativity as a philosopher, my conclusion often is that I'm one of the most optimistic people in the world. Some people might think that's the darkest thing about it, particularly since I've always been somewhat gawky-feeling, with a persistent headache. Some people might think I'm the archetype of the social parasite. If not, then maybe something worse.

4. Art: I sometimes think my artworks are worth human souls. This might be seen as a dark side, for those that think of me as a common, decent human being.

Watch out for packets of perpetual motion concepts printed on cardstock paper. I have been distributing them at bulletins, the Engleman cafeteria, and the table in Morrill hall. Although the janitors or other interested parties may have collected them at the end of the day, some may still be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and some remain on the bulletins in Engleman. They're about 4 X 4 in. and marked 'free' or 'free perpetual motion concepts'. Some may also be available with the physics department, with a particular gentleman who agreed to share them with students interested in physics. His is the first office to the left of the secretary's desk. But for those with less courage, it may be easier to just pick one of the ones I have left on bulletins. Feel free to pluck them off and keep them / frame them. It is my goal to develop a legacy as a hobby inventor.
