Life & Brain Tips
Your brain doesn't have to be made of jello.
Don't think your brain is a poodle.
If the thought comes eventually, that's half the battle. Then all you have to do is remember it. Or, just be hyper-creative.
Some of the smartest people don't even realize it. Never take an I.Q. test, it will ruin you.
Study easy subjects and then apply them to hard ones.
Work hard on things you are sure to accomplish.
Solve big questions as soon as possible.
Make logic depend on big questions.
Ignore triviality unless you want to solve problems, or if it entertains your mind.
Write until you gain experience, then write better.
Every now and again, add new technical tools to your vocabulary.
Work at your own level unless you want to learn something.
Choose your attitude wisely.
Behave like your superiors or you will miss the show.
Orient yourself towards the most profound quest.
Identify the trouble-makers.
Avoid gambling and other poor financial choices.
Learn the harmony of your body without causing distress to your spirit.
Believe in gods, but more than that, believe in the gods' arguments and truth.

Cure for Mild to Moderate Intermittant Depression
I had an experience and a realization recently.
I realized when I'm feeling slightly depressed, it's really the desire to be this character called 'deep hippie.'
It turns out, deep hippie is depressed.
So,
Whenever you're depressed, say:
"That's a little deep."
And move on.

Did Nathan Win A Nobel?
I saw one of the same people that had come to my door before with a big group including some of my neighbors, supposedly investigating a Nobel prize, lurking on Orange Street again where the front offices are.
He actually went into the office, which makes me think it was related to me (actually, my first thought was that someone else in the neighborhood had won the prize).
I still don't know if the first visit was a hoax.
A physics prize would mean someone has built perpetual motion based on my designs, whereas philosophy would only happen as a literature prize if I were really popular (or, maybe smart).
I've mostly given up for the time being. I don't actively seek prizes. Most committees have imbalanced preferences or try to be objective. Anyway, I tell myself I wouldn't refuse the prize if it came my way.

Uncommon Wisdom
Ideas are sometimes best seen as the most common things.
What is not forthright is, and must be, determined, unless it is subtle or magical.
Some say the darkness has fog. The others say the clouds are clocks.
Entertainment is nice that remains beneath the tree of knowledge. After that, there is talk of metaphysics.
An intellectual who hikes in the woods knows, dry leaves do not make a good home for ink.
If you understand THINGS, then you know that pain is not the thing to value.
Over-running chapters holds some secret to writing.
The identity is firmer than it's purpose, say those who have not discovered formulas for the soul.
