THE METHODOLOGY OF SYSTEMS

Make art. Realize your imaginative possibilities. Look for symbols.
Develop a menu of symbolic modalities. Organize them. Discover their meaning.
Extend the best logic ad nauseam. Form a universal system where possible.
Generate all itera of existing methods. Exaggerate where necessary. Technicalize where necessary. Elaborate where necessary. However crude, the existing system is the basis for all derivatives.
Focus on a detail. Take part of the detail suitable for stylistic representation, and select it for use as a system.
Repeat, form other systems. “Bring to bear all things in one watcher”.
Form sigil-motifs to summarize and streamline existing symbols and systems. Use these as call-expressions for common logics.
Eke the best method. Form new works. Elaborate. Simplify.
Focus on only the best work. The soul of the system.
Explore major alternatives. Piece together intermediate areas.
Cheat: leap to this point and invent something new to extend the life of the system. For example, relativity, or perpetual motion. Work within existing conventions, and break them.
Work on prediction and limits. Improve intelligence. Find intuitive methods. Go back to the beginning.

Modification of Kolmogorov’s Axioms of Probability for Coherency Theory


Original Axioms:
(1) Let P be a non-negative real number
(2) 100% probability equals 1 (note: untrue with exceptions: some truths have false conditions).
(3) That it is a finite set or function

Corollary of the original axioms: All finite probabilities can be standardized from 0 to 1.

Assumption / insight: This might be useful.

Nathan Coppedge's Modified Axioms:
(1) Begin with a category.
(2) Categories are in some way rendered equivalent subsets of the set.
(3) The set and subsets are exclusive.

Corollary of the modified axioms: Categories can express coherent sets with relative absoluteness.

Assumption / insight: Relative absoluteness, if possible, might permit objectivity and ultimately omniscience.

The Structure of Philosophical Revolutions

Forthcoming book! This is a book I wrote in an afternoon (this afternoon), to fill in missing gaps in Thomas Paine.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Coppedge considers what is missing from a common sense idea of government by interpreting the first two books of Paine’s Common Sense for figments of an underlying technocratic idea. Weaving in glimpses of technical jargon from his own coherentist philosophy, he addresses an idea of modular government which accepts economic and technological success and the meaningful interests of its citizens as the standard of progress, both for the citizen, and for the governments role as a corporation of citizens. The result is democratic and poetic, and also futuristic.  It is both political philosophy and an idea of philosophy’s ultimate importance.
