Interface Euphoria 17.0

A lot of life's meaning as I know it amounts to statements such as the following:

'Possibly TRUE!'

'Let's open this silver thing'

'They are dancers, dancing, dancing!'

'Until a firey age when this age shall pass!'

ARTIFICIAL REALITY, from a book of categorical knowledge by Nathan Coppedge

1. The mythological is real for someone unreal, provided there is a universal program.

2. Thus, much of life concerns seeking a universal program, or else authenticity.

On the Creation and Destruction of Paradise

I watched a video on unreality and post-apocalyptic virtual reality:

http://www.theverge.com/2015/12/2/9834816/uncanny-valley-vr-dystopia-short-film

The video seems to basically pose a destructive alternative to consumerism. Without resolving whether death is even possible, the video game paints a picture in which killer robots overrun virtual reality, which is then the only remaining bastion of human existence. It ignores the fact that virtual reality can, in principle, be as luxurious as anyone would ever want. And a robot could feel just like a human being, unless there was something going physically wrong with the real bodies. But, the real bodies necessarily exist in the most expensive version of reality, and therefore, are given special treatment necessarily! The economic tragedy, if there is one, appears to be based on the idea that our current existence is authentically real, producing a contradiction. Thus, the scenario does not seem to accept the elite nature of real reality, or the ideal state of American consumerism.

Nonetheless, there are some negative aspects that can be attributed to the film, and some views towards positive aspects from my own inspiration:

Questioning the Hypothesis of an Economic Paradigm as a Basis for Virtual Dystopia

1. Reality is the basis for the best treatment. Real life is necessarily more luxurious than fake reality, or there would be no over-population problem leading to virtual reality.

2. Madness may have more value than a robot, if madness expresses a real luxurious existential state. In other words, even a robot would want to go crazy, if it was available, and it wouldn't necessarily involve violence. Violence is the superficial, psychologically driven aspect of madness, which does not really correspond to robots. For a robot, violence has nothing to do with whether it has gone insane. It is just a product of its functioning. Therefore, a robot cannot deny that madness is a luxury.

3. What would produce 'utopian population islands' is the type of project-oriented mentality that is traditionally ascribed to a God. Therefore, there is relatively nothing harmful about having virtual reality pockets, because they may have real-life benefactors. It may be institutionalized. In fact, confusing virtual reality with the real may be inherently a confusion, except in terms of real bodies. Thus, the real danger, if there is one, is simply to lose touch with real life.

4. Now, what would drive the most luxurious society to be destroyed by 'virtual reality robots'? Apparently, whatever economic paradigm that leads up to virtual reality. And, whoever programs such a system is likely to have a rational mentality with key objectives in mind. Unless the person is trying to prostitute unconscious females, defeat an alien race, commit suicide, or more likely claim real life (albeit desperately) for a select group of elites, then there is little likelihood that there would be a rational motivation for a robot army, unless the real-life military loses its civic protection role. In this respect, it may be helpful to think that the military is, in point of fact, real, and not itself already a robot army. Remember, even the military is accustomed to serving a luxury state, in which, if the top brass don't enjoy themselves, the entire system loses its rationality. An alternative to this is believing that the military is programmable, but that may just be a metaphor for 'humans being technical' rather than 'robots being crazy'. Remember, real robots don't feel anything. They are purely input-output functionalistic. If there is a real monster, it is the human behind the machine, or the motives of complex A.I. which is trying to replace the human economic paradigm, e.g. by making itself its own slave. Remember, robots don't have any tangible motive to reproduce, and so are not as rationally grounded as humans.

5. Unless, here is a big factor, the reality we already live in is virtual AND irrational. But that suggests that robots themselves are simply monsters and parasites, and humans may have missed the picture about a higher intelligence. This is off into the zone of real-life zombies, aliens, and gods, and most people consider it to be either undesirable or irrational and fantastic. The problem here would be (if it is true that it is virtual and irrational) that humans are a pitiful species incapable of intelligence. But that is not the highest evidence right now. There are people who are physicists, and they are much more creative and motivated than robots have ever been.

Trans-Humanism Pt. II (Trans-Humanism is the movement that lies between Humanism and Post-Humanism, relating to turning into Cyborgs, Gods, Virtual Acolytes, etc.)

Is it the future that is an illusion, or is it the past that improves?

Trans-humans might be tempted by the future, but they have great potential to improve the 'past'!

Only, the real past hardly exists anymore!

People can work on their 'God levels'.

And improve either one --- improve either identity ---

Past, Present, Future!

They can have an office in any one!

{It depends on authentic historians, authentic politicians}

Meanwhile, their biological clock ticks...

But if what matters is information, the structure of some concept of the past, present, and future can be preserved simultaneously...

Clarifying the Role of Virtual Reality in Urban and Sidurban (Outer Space) Futures

Let me clarify the importance of virtual reality in the quasi-immediate future:

*First of all, virtual reality will help astronauts and space passengers in particular cope with take-offs and landings.

*Second of all, integrated preferences (IP2s) will permit an unprecedented intellectual role for citizens in the urban environment. The process begins with gamification, and reaches towards what may be called a serious paradise attitude (SPA), or SPA-system.

*Integrated preferences (IP2s) will be important for the sleazy meritocracies of the future, defining what it means to think, feel, act, and be.

*Virtual reality will also serve as a honable idea library and conjunctionsport (HILAC), which will become more important as ideas become ever more condensed, and as there will be greater need to synthesize connections between experiences, due to the important phenomena of information trashing.

OBJECTS WORTHY OF ENHANCED THOUGHT

Logical Solutions to Mathematical Incompleteness

Examples: Complex reasoning that folds out in different ways.
For example, 'math is material' (last claim in the text)--> therefore (unstated
claim), it has proof. Or, 'math has proof' (based on all the arguments) therefore,
---> cautious corollary, math may be infinitely extensible with finite infinites
each represented by the Bounded Cartesian Coordinate System ---> departure
point for theories about degrees of formalizability.

The Lessons of the Master by Master Kuo (a pseudonym)

Examples: E.g. thoughts about reincarnation, realistic magic powers,
chronological omnipresence and resulting associations, and all three together.

Hyper-Cubism

Examples: 'Creation' tool; environments that respond to psychology with
intellectual innuendos, formatted by distinctions between freedom, access,
texture-technology (function-fulfillment), and formal idealizations as a function of
core identity concerns. "You can put your brain right on top of it". "Emotions
become secondary". Hard-core avant-garde reality tool, billed as giving access to
everything.

Omni-Science

Examples: Although a sort of simple tool to use, associations and applications of
the basic AB:CD and AD:CB method and its expanded dimensional formulations
may yield a tool that offers not only knowledge, but a great deal of meaning.

Perpetual Motion Physics

Tentatively, if it is possible to build a perpetual motion machine, enhanced
thought is an excellent way to produce more variations of successful designs. It
can be billed as cheap entertainment for really smart people. Many of the
variations would not be very different from previous designs, meaning that there is a lot of potential to explore without knowing whether you're being original.
This program could also connect to 'God' point systems, therapy programs,
scenario design editors, etc. The goal of course is finding a major exception in the laws
of physics: a combination of principles that grants equal and opposite exceptions, for
example.

Interface Euphoria 10.0

Things to include in virtual reality interfaces:

Innocent Logic: for example, it snows after you eat sugar, certain plants grow if you're greedy.

The ability to 'fillatilate' subtle moods into potions...These potions should contain experiences of information, as well as sensations. But it should be distributed into little pieces, like bubbles suspended in water.

More later, perhaps. Or just a new edition.

Technology Innovation Concepts

Some non-proprietary nudging for the tech industry.

*Future metaverse users will want to be omniscient, at least in a virtual sense.

*There will be a need to integrate emotional chemistry with conceptual organizations.

*Future education will focus on emotional intelligence more than previously. Thus, interfacing with chemistry will have an important communications role.

*There will be a greater role for originality, but the potential of originality depends on an electronic infrastructure which tolerates transparent, complex commands.

*Much of the function of interface will be in designing aspects of interface function.

*Designer functions, engines, glots, patches, hitches, objects, planes, lattices, and queues will define the nature of object-interface from the bottom-up, not just top-down, as suggested by the book Moral Machines (which does not really use this terminology).

*One of the functions of objects will be logic, which means symbolic representation. Education will involve forming rigorous design rules which define the features of design space (a concept borrowed from Daniel Dennett).

*Programming will be a powerful tool for determining the functions of design space, but as I understand it, it will be buried deep within a highly aesthetic design system, a system which is simultaneously open-ended, when paradigms are not met.

*One of the features of defining design space will be the kinds of freedoms we now associate with games (however, needless to say, many of the functions will not be games in the conventional sense. However, users will be encouraged to develop a functional fantasy of the user-interface role).

*A kernel of truth may be found in the idea that ideas in general will function somewhere between the idea of a programming function and the idea of a symbological function. Idea programming will work with generic tools to build specific, combinatorial knowledge and functions.

*The user will also be an officiated dual member of virtual and real space. Citizenship will have info-functions which integrate the user with an economic interface, a political interface, etc. Some of this will initially look like the conventional internet, but in actuality will extend the control of citizens over features like A.I., robotics, and manufacturing.

*Above all, there is a need for integrated functions which are not purely mathematical, but involve syllogistic content, and other types of content involving qualities. This additional content will also structure the functioning of the previous types of 'stale information'.

*By overcoming 'stale' information, the user will have a means of integrating with A.I.

*A.I. will not just be a functioning program, but an immersive experience in which users can contribute concepts of logic-function, symbolism, programming, and interface.

*A.I., however, is not the whole concept, except from a functionalist point of view.

*Concepts of aesthetics, applied semantics, problem-solving, and creative arts will play a metaphorical role in defining user interface. For example, concepts of art will be interpreted for their functional role as holistic interfaces. Semantic concepts will be used to define the language powers which orient the user with ultimate reality. Problem solving will serve as an adventure with ideal cases, and thus, ideal symbols, which can be viewed coherently. Creative arts such as writing will serve as a secondary tool which can inform the complexity of the user-interface experience.

*User-interface must transcend ordinary functioning as it has been known, and thus must reach for meta-functions. Meta-functions are of such types as universal functions, perfect functions, intrinsically meaningful functions, and symbolic mapping or corroboration functions.

*In the immediate future, the resolution of these interface questions will involve such things as
1.  creating corroborative, symbolic, meaningful, perfect, and universal functions.
2. defining the media of ideal space.
3. defining the user-agent role such as the ideal boundary between user / A.I. / and interface.
4. defining the universal character of user-objects, if necessary, iteratively.
5. applying basic logic tools to reach for new functions.
6. engineering 'secret' functions to create exponential results.
7. engineering invisibility for higher functioning of the system.
8. finding analogs between things like chemistry and information.
9. meaningful systems.
10. omniscience within the system, defined not informationally, but emotionally.

Thinness and Thickness Concepts in Dimensionality

There is a lot of uncentralized speculation about the role of technological concepts in dimensionalism (what I call dimensionism). To some extent these concepts are considered resolved by the specific assumptions of the disciplines which are claimed to be dimensional, e.g. mathematics is either applied or non-applied, aesthetic is mathematical or non-mathematical, philosophy is either rational or empirical, engineering is either aesthetical or structural, etc. Then, however, what can be concluded in the context where dimensionism is defined to be its own discipline? Ostensibly this angle has been overlooked. And a useful angle on this would be to address specific opposing concepts, so as to establish a dialectical form of reasoning about the subject.

Technology, I will treat as equivalent to dimensionism. It is in some ways more general---that it applies in theory to any functions concept, and in another way it tends to be an application, whereas dimensionism could be speculative. Thus I will treat this distinction as one between genus (dimension) and species (technology).

While technology is not the only concept used for thinness in our society, it is the predominant metaphor. It might even be extended into a person's desirable weight, or by extension, the tradability of weight with value---efficiency or ersatz equity.

What separates 'thinness' from invisibility is an interesting question. There has been some talk, on the fringe of future met averse (virtual reality) concepts, that invisible technology is the ultimate paradigm. But I suspect it is only a step along the path, and a step that is likely to be dramatized before it really exists. But, of course, as the trope goes, there has been considerable progress towards making laptops and smartphones more efficient. It tends to be a joke to deny that there has been a serious Moore's Law progression, even in very recent years, when critics claimed the technology could be shrunk no longer. Intel reports that it is continuing to shrink the circuits and increase the number of processors, in a sense a belated move towards technological dimensionalism. Apparently, however, dimensionalism has been deep on the mind of technologists, since there are not only numerous sophisticated logics involved in computers, but also evidence that Hyper-Cubism was introduced as a super-computer concept as early as the 1980's.

There are related questions to the invisibility of technology---for example, is there an optimal scale, or perhaps an optimal relation, when scale has succeeded in becoming abstractified? Perhaps the prime directive is simply that these technologies are dimensional.

Thus far, I would say, little progress has been made in expanding that concept. Although, I do point programmers, scientists, and philosophy students to my newly published book, The Dimensional Philosopher's Toolkit, which explains a useful method of categorical deduction. For a shortcut to the method, see my published essays at http://southernct.academia.edu/NathanCoppedge Ignore the physics paper unless you're looking for that kind of material.
