musk and gates probably have the status of jobs. They were all high-profile. Jobs less so now since he’s dead. Keep in mind, jobs sort of jumped into popularity with the release of the i-phone and it was linked to the connection with pixar after the fact. He was not always that popular. A lot of it was that he appeared in apple computer ads or something like that, like in the NY Times and on big billboard ads. It was paid for with money. He could be compared to Ramsees II at this point because it was so high profile.
Everyone gets That
I sometimes want to call myself ‘Nathan the Great’.
Judging by my surroundings, I might be one of those foolish people.
My Dad has a Yale PhD. My mother was top of her class in college. Some of my other relatives are programmers. Both of my grandfathers were engineers. My grandmothers were teachers.
I excelled in school, although less so than some of my friends. I began to think I had to be a foolish sort of genius if I was going to have any shot at being a genius.
During my childhood I was mostly unexceptional outside of school. I read books, and was interested in medieval weapons, ninjas, and pirates.
In my last year of high school I decided to be more intellectual. I started reading Nietzsche and writing poetry. For a number of years I was a poet and artist, and literally went insane while I was in college.
I thought I could win a woman by stacking on more creative abilities. In 2005 I started thinking about simple but ingenious inventions that might be worth money. But I couldn’t find any companies that were willing to manufacture them. In fact a company run by Harvard may have stolen one of my concepts because all I had invented was a name for the product, not the product itself. And trademarks cost money I couldn’t pay, even if I was crazy enough to take the risk.
My biggest fantasy other than inventing perpetual motion (given that people thought I was an idiot) was to be a philosopher (in fact, they are both still interests of mine). In 2013 I came up with an experiment that I think ultimately with quite a lot of unprecedented analysis proved the principle of perpetual motion, and in the beginning of that year I came up with a formula for absolute knowledge.
On the surface I had no character. I was physically awkward and embarrassing. My social life didn’t exist and I was almost proud of it. All of my friends had succeeed in some way, but I was still a student in college, without anything resembling a job. Maybe it’s an average outcome in some ways, some highs and some lows, but my exceptional surroundings made me feel like a loser. I’m right next to Yale. The average girlfriend material here needs someone who’s a millionaire.
Humanity sort of improves, but everyone thinks its too expensive.
Relatively low-key politics.
The world may find a new kind of sanity.
Some unbelievable claims will seem more and more likely to be true.
Impressive technology doesn’t win over enough people.
Not sure about social security. The prestige of the lower classes may be weighed.
Possible failures in education.
Maybe deaths from video-game related crimes.
The nature of employment and social service may be brought into question.
There may be small forms of income, but more people will lose major sources of income.
Influential people will try to string out talented people on small payments or imaginary incentives to wheedle information and services out of them.
