The Doctrine of Original Wisdom

Why do we feel we are wiser than our juniors?
I don't.
I feel that the wisdom present at birth is basically distorted through experience of the imperfect world.
Reality cannot meet up with the full potential of original wisdom, and the result is unrealized potential, and unrealized wisdom. Wisdom should be measured relative to potential wisdom, and so, we must consider ourselves less wise whenever we make an imperfect choice. And since there is always a perfect choice available, we are unwise whenever we do nothing also.
On the other hand, an energy -based concept of wisdom is the opposite, and does not seem to favor genuine progress, since it is arbitrary whether there was energy to go with the original wisdom.
