Also,

For those scared off by my scary skull-and-crossbones cover on the Secret Principles of Immortality, the cover is undergoing a change, and now will feature a peach color with a phoenix. I hope that remedies the situation. I originally chose the skull-and-crossbones thinking that I needed to fit the 'don't judge a book by it's cover' paradigm (many books try to fit that model, but in this case it was a little inappropriate). And by the way, the phoenix is not a sign of the Luftwaffe, it is an alchemical symbol which may or may not originate from Germany.

Obscure Quote

Someone cites "Nathan Coppedge’s centralization or institutionalization" on a forum where I have participated actively.

See: http://www.economist.com/node/21587384/comments#comments

Now I'm wondering if there's any chance I wrote the comment myself. But it seems unlikely, given the style. Kind of unlikely, but not impossible. Maybe the facts are wrong about India.

One of my artworks

is now listed on Credo Reference, as per my earlier submission to Wikimedia Commons:

http://search.credoreference.com/content/topic/cubism

"Composition on Two Occasions" by Nathan Coppedge (Some added information: Hyper-Cubism, a movement started in Germany, New Haven and Australia in the 21st Century. Nathan Coppedge gave away hundreds of black and white artworks for free in hopes of attracting artistic fame)...

I'm now listed at PhilPapers, a major academic website

http://philpapers.org/pages/

Nathan Coppedge (Aesthetics, Logic, Computing and Information, 20th Century).

Updated Book News

The Dimensional Psychologist's Toolkit is available for purchase as an e-book.

The full physical version of the book will also be available soon.

If you want review material to appear on the cover, however, you will need to wait another 10 weeks for the review to be returned to me.

This further image,

also from Hyperseeing Journal (about math, architecture, and similar subjects), has inspired me deeply about philosophical concepts of structure, e.g. conceptualism. I originally assumed the two pictures represented one larger sculpture. So I have simulated that more closely in this image.

This image

which I discovered on the cover of Hyperseeing Journal, has been an inspiration on the subject of perpetual motion.

New Book: The Old Incantations, or Sorcery in the Dark

Poems 2001 - 2006.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Nathan Coppedge, the poet of this collection, considers this his middle period, a kind of dark age in which he produced his most meaningful work. The earlier period may be more authentic, and the later period more classical, but during this period the two were combined. In these poems, covering themes from love to lightning, and occasionally rhapsing Dickinsonian, Coppedge captures some of the enigma and powerful significance of being a poet. Like the title suggests, in at least one of these poems you will literally get the sense of calling down lightning. Nothing is quite the same without Nathan Coppedge. And it is certainly weird when he is here. These poems evoke immortality, but they also come from a voice which is in some ways more than ordinary.

The book is available on Amazon now, HERE.

The price is 4.99 for an e-book, and 9.99 or less for paperback.

Hypothetically, God's I.Q. System

based on an article I wrote about exceptional reality. The theory is that God is really relaxed, but has an impossible standard in which everyone passes a little, and no one passes completely. So this test scales to all levels of reality. It includes God, it includes devils, it includes the most fantastic intelligence, the most absurd folly, and the most divine wisdom. It includes all instances of success and failure. Here it goes:

The Over-Easy Ontological I.Q.

The Book of Uniques

is now published.

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Nathan Coppedge, previously the author of The Dimensional Psychologist’s Toolkit and Nathan Coppedge’s Perpetual Motion Machine Designs & Theory, here presents a variety of unique graphic symbols and archetypes.

Short and sweet, this text is bound to confound its readers with its sense of originality and meaning as deep as the sea of Odysseus.

The e-book is priced at $4.99, and the physical text comes at less than $9.99. HERE is the link.

Tips and Tricks of the Web

ENTRY-LEVEL BLOG SITES

         http://www.blogger.com
         http://www.wordpress.com
         http://www.tripod.com

Many web developers recommend that someone use a blog as the 'anchor' page for primary websites.

WEBSITE BUILDING SERVICES

http://www.sites.google.com is a formerly free website publishing tool. From what I can tell it only allows simple appearances though, which is a downside.
http://www.smallbusiness.yahoo.com  I've been using this service for 14 years. The tools are pretty easy to use, but it costs at least 15 dollars / month. Wait until they have a good deal, but the earlier the better, because prices keep going up. Once you have a plan, the fee is flat. Content is basically unlimited, and they provide a non-HTML editor that doesn't require any coding abilities. Just use of menus, and some artistic ability.

GOOGLE RANK TOOL

Useful for discovering the popularity of any given webpage:

It is found on the Google Toolbar HERE.

I have found that some review-type sites are ranked zero (which is bad).

USEFUL HTML CODES

When you have a website, you can add 'like' buttons and other features to your website, found at the following addresses:

Like button: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/like-button/
Tweet button: https://about.twitter.com/resources/buttons
Google+ button: https://developers.google.com/+/web/+1button/

SOCIAL MEDIA

Sites such as http://www.facebook.com

and http://www.twitter.com

can be used to find more exposure for your blog or other resources.

Some colleges have their own built-in services that are only available to students.

In addition, there are some academic social media sites where you can post essays, videos, and attract interest from academic viewers:

http://www.academicroom.com
http://www.academia.edu

I am avoiding them, but there are also online courses available through MOOCs, which are collaborative environments focused on learning.

There are also other sites which I like better, that are more about contributing ideas and brainstorming (However, these sites do not always feature a comment function, unfortunately):

http://www.answers.yahoo.com  help people answer questions. I'm close to level 6.
http://www.project-syndicate.org   high level idea forum
http://www.explore-ideas.com  this guy claims it gets 1,000,000 views / day.
http://www.creativitypool.com

KEY ADVICE

Web searches are content-oriented and also popularity oriented, two themes which are sometimes at odds. The compromise is that many searches become product or commercially-oriented, but there's no access to this for the little guy. So, either you need to attract attention, or you need something that actually attracts attention BY ITSELF. And, unfortunately, there are not a lot of ways to publish links to your site, which is approximately the only way to get more attention. So, you want to make use of free services, and also have one or more paid services. If you have some money to spare, you can start more than one website with decent content, and link them one to the other, using any available free sites to promote the material found on your primary pages. After 11 years, I have one site ranked level 3 / 10 (this currently means that I sometimes get 100 views in a day from other visitors), and formerly had a site ranked 4 that I no longer owned. Competition is fierce. It would help to own a lot more high-profile looking sites, but that often costs money. Some academic pages don't accept links for commercial sites, and some searches are now only commercial-oriented, so it's pretty difficult to make progress. But quantity helps a lot. Word-of-mouth is sometimes a defining factor for longevity, when nothing is moving.

"Basic" Platonism

BOOK DESCRIPTION

This is an extended sketch of some of the ideas that emerge in the process of leaving Plato’s cave, a process I assume to be metaphorical, yet certainly deep, intelligent, and potentially wise. Many of the psychological states of prisoners, scientists, and intelligent children are evoked in an effort to convey the exact feeling of leaving the cave, at every step in the process, and even well beyond mere shadowy moonlight.

It may be purchased on Amazon HERE.

Secret Principles of Immortality

BOOK DESCRIPTION

Coppedge, widely known for his concepts of perpetual motion devices, is also an author of philosophical articles, and vowed at the age of nine to become immortal. In these twenty-six articles, reprinted with permission from his articles at Ezinearticles.com, Nathan explores many categories---such as immortal knowledge and mortal medicine----in a philosophical quest for the highly specific categories of knowledge which best represent immortality. These categories may be as well-known as medicine and athletics, or as obscure as the activiites of one of China's noble sages, or the nature of ambergris. It is philosophy which makes this pursuit accessible.

For sale on Amazon, HERE.

This is the updated cover, which should be available in April, 2014.

Readers may be surprised...

I have two additional books awaiting publication, in addition to the nine other titles I have already published this year.

These new titles are:

"Basic" Platonism: A Journey Through Plato's Cave

and

The Secret Principles of Immortality, Vol. I

Secret Principles is re-printed from my articles at Ezinearticles.Com. Basic Platonism is my attempt to summarize many of the experiences of the hypothetical philosopher-student-cave-explorer, as I say (hypothetically) a journey way beyond the moonlight.

I got an e-mail

from a hobbyist, asking for input about a design.

While I am not allowed to re-post the materials sent to me, I can state that the design was lacking somewhat in potential.

For those that are interested in designing perpetual motion, I give the standard advice:

(1) Combine multiple principles

(2) Then try to sustain unity

That's it. It's hard to do. I haven't built a working device yet, but I have excellent designs. Some people feel they need to 'do the magnet thing' and get caught up in inputting electricity. I'm afraid that's a trap, a false door, that doesn't go anywhere. You need the right design, then you need a way to build it. It's hard to do. But the best advice for simple perpetual motion is above, and the complex machines are not any simpler to build, and don't necessarily take any shortcuts.

I also direct you to my so-called SMOT-without-magnets design, at: http://hypercubics.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-build-over-unity-device.html . This is a genuine over-unity apparatus I have built (see the video at http://www.academicroom.com/video/evidence-against-classical-model ), which can be modified and multiplied to create a real simple perpetual motion machine. The major details are that it requires lightweight parts, add weight on the counterweight until the marble moves without jumping off the track, add single zig-zags to the lever to create perpetual motion, and a slight upwards 'step' in each lever may be required (without a step in the supporting track) before the beginning of each modular unit.

I sent an article

to a gentleman named Sreejith, who runs a "Episteme Puzzles" blog.

He requested that I write a new article on metaphysics. So that is what I have done.

No word yet on whether it's accepted.

I will re-post this post as a link to his post if I'm accepted.

Recent sales reports indicate...

8 sales of the Dimensional Philosopher's Toolkit in Nov. - March without bookstore presence.

4 sales of the Perpetual Motion Machine Designs and Theory in Jan. - March without bookstore presence.

2 sales of Masterful Zen and Sufi Koans Jan- March without bookstore presence.

1 sale of How to Write Aphorisms in Febr. - Mar. without bookstore presence.

This might not include some outside channels such as academic libraries or alternate distributors.

For example, I was surprised to find that the DPT made six sales in the fourth quarter last year, which included two hard copies that I didn't know about.

This quarter isn't over, and sales have been increasing.
